Lake Erie Days

Keith Richardson quotes Fergus Hambleton in an interview in 1975: “…Lake Erie Days will return more to the personal statement style of the first album “All The Right Noises” and will be composed of one side rock and roll, the other side nostalgia.”

Fergus’ young childhood was spent near Lake Erie. “The lyrics, though will be more matter-of-fact. I was really trying to write love songs but now I’m more interested in those everyday, natural situations everything else comes out of. It’s just my thoughts on the old ‘condition humaine’.” Fergus comments that he has always been fascinated with the ocean. “It’s one of those things in nature with a power and consistency that overrides everything.”

Fergus Hambleton is a versatile singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist, who during his lengthy career has been a leading performer and songwriter in the folk, pop and reggae fields, most notably in the Juno award winning reggae band The Sattalites.
