Steel River - Armoured Car

Steel River

Armoured Car

STEEL RIVER is the same band that recorded “Ten Pound Note” (1970), “Southbound Train” (1971) and “Mexican Lady” (1971) – all national chart records in Canada and the United States. This is the complete re-mastered digital version of the ARMOURED CAR album recorded and released by Axe in 1980 and includes their 45rpm singles “Armoured Car” & “We Want You To Love Us”.

After the release of their first & second albums (Weighin’ Heavy & A Better Road) and after 4 years of touring with the likes of Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night, Edgar Winter, Mountain and the James Gang, the group officially parted ways, but only for four months. It was a short-lived hiatus and the five member band continued to play together on a regular basis. Personnel on this, their final album, remained as before with JOHN DUDGEON on vocals, BOB FORRESTER on keyboards, ROB COCKELL on bass, TONY DUNNING on guitar and the addition of DENNIS WATSON on drums
